Ingredients
2
inches
Fresh ginger root
(or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of ½ lemon
¼
tsp
Ground cinnamon
1
tbsp
Honey or maple syrup
(optional, to taste)
¼
cup
Hot water
(not boiling)
Instructions
Prepare the Ginger
Peel and roughly chop the ginger root into small pieces. If using ground ginger, measure out ½ teaspoon.
Juice the Citrus
Juice the orange and half a lemon. Strain out seeds but keep the pulp if you prefer a more textured shot.
Combine Ingredients
Add the chopped ginger and citrus juices to a blender.
Add ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder and 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste).
Pour in ¼ cup of hot (not boiling) water.
Blend Until Smooth
Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth. Most blenders will take about 1 minute.
Strain the Mixture (Optional)
For a smoother texture, strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve.
Compost or discard the remaining pulp. You can skip this step if you prefer a more robust texture.
Serve & Enjoy
Pour into shot glasses, sherry glasses, or small mugs.
Serve warm and drink immediately for the best warming effect.
Notes
Ginger Substitution:
If fresh ginger isn’t available, ground ginger works just as well.
Cinnamon Boost:
Feel free to adjust the cinnamon for a spicier flavor.
Storage:
Ginger shots are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Warm slightly before serving.
Serving Size:
This recipe yields approximately 6 x 50 ml servings, perfect for small doses of immune support.
